Impact report
We are committed to being transparent and accountable, and we report on our progress each year in our Impact Report.
We are driving a transformation of real estate, making buildings and neighbourhoods more resilient, efficient, and decarbonised.

Europe’s competitiveness, resilience, and security hinge on improving energy efficiency and utilising cheap, reliable, and clean energy sources. Real estate is uniquely positioned to support this agenda.
Key actions
- No new fossil fuel
Urban Partners is committed not to installing new fossil fuel equipment from 2025 onwards
- Renewable energy
Urban Partners is deploying decentralised renewable energy production and storage at scale

Improved energy efficiency drives greenhouse gas emission reductions. Improving the energy efficiency of buildings is also good business. It is a force of competitiveness for our commercial tenants, and it shields our residential tenants from high and fluctuating energy prices.
Key results
- Paris 1.5°C
Paris 1.5°C aligned for energy use intensity (real estate equity portfolio on average aligned with the CRREM 1.5°C EUI pathway)

Climate change from GHG emissions threatens ecosystems worldwide. Real estate and urban spaces alone account for +30% of global GHG emissions. Emissions come from both energy use in buildings (operational emissions) and from materials used in new construction and renovation (embodied emissions). Decarbonisation is embedded in our investment and asset-management decisions, positioning us to assess both risk and value-creation potential throughout the investment lifecycle.
Key results
- Paris 1.5°C
aligned across embodied and operational emissions (real estate equity portfolio on average aligned with the CRREM 1.5°C GHG pathway and SBTi pathway for upfront embodied emissions)

Covering +90% of Urban Partners’ total footprint, our GHG targets include Urban Partners’ own emissions (Scope 1+2) and our investments in real estate with discretionary mandates (Scope 3). Our GHG reduction targets are validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
Key targets (from a 2022 baseline)
- 70%
reduction of Urban Partners’ absolute Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030
- 80%
reduction of operational GHG emissions intensity by 2030
- 50%
reduction of embodied GHG emissions intensity by 2030
- 100%
of real estate portfolio companies need to have validated SBTs by 2030
Europe is facing a new reality – our security and prosperity depend on our ability to eliminate our dependence on fossil fuel imports and to increase energy efficiency, resilience and flexibility.

Our impact and value creation approach goes beyond climate mitigation. We are serious about creating safe, livable and thriving communities and neighbourhoods.

To keep pace, cities need new models of renewal - approaches that combine creativity, governance, and investment to unlock their full potential. Urban Partners approaches urban regeneration through long term, partnership driven investments focused on resilient and socially inclusive neighbourhoods.
