Velo Capital, the credit solutions strategy of urban investor Urban Partners, has appointed Nico Schreyer as Head of German Investments. He brings over 20 years of experience in real estate debt investments, banking, and corporate finance, having held senior roles at a German alternative lender and a major German savings bank.

In his previous positions, Nico has specialised in the structuring and financing of real estate transactions covering the whole debt capital stack, including senior, whole loan, junior and mezzanine transactions. Nico’s track record includes transactions totalling approximately €1.0 billion across European senior and junior real estate financings, involving around 240 assets across five countries (Germany, Austria, Belgium, France and Luxemburg) and a diverse range of asset classes and public sector properties.

In his new role, Nico will lead deal origination and execution, investment strategy and the management of borrower relationships in Germany.

Emanuele Bena, Managing Partner at Velo Capital, said: “With his deep market knowledge and extensive experience, Nico brings valuable expertise in appropriately sourcing and structuring real estate financings in today’s real estate markets. It’s an exciting time for the business and Nico’s capabilities will be invaluable as we continue to grow and enhance our service offerings. With Nico’s appointment, we are moving forward at a pace to meet the growing demand for alternative financing solutions as traditional banks remain cautious on lending, both across the Nordics and deeper into Germany.”
