Intro

Copenhagen’s population has grown rapidly over the past five years, increasing demand for owner-occupied housing. We’re transforming a former industrial building to expand the city’s supply of high-quality homes for ownership.

Copenhagen has experienced rapid growth over the past five years, driven by migration and a natural population increase. At the same time, the pace of new construction has not kept up with demand, putting sustained pressure on housing supply and affordable options for young professionals and new families.

In 2024, Urban Partners acquired A-House, an iconic 1960s waterfront former industrial building in Copenhagen’s harbour district. The investment supports the city’s housing objectives by converting rental apartments into high-quality, owner-occupied homes, increasing supply in a constrained market for the middle-income segment.

The transformation preserves and enhances shared amenities, including fitness facilities, a landscaped courtyard, and a rooftop terrace, for the benefit of all residents. Working closely with architects and designers, Urban Partners is also upgrading apartment layouts and improving the building’s overall energy performance to ensure the development meets modern living standards while extending its long-term value.
